Small genre painting of a woman with a basket of fruit leaning from a window done in 17th century Flemish style, on wood panel 6 1/4" X 7 3/4". Backed by a wooden cradle, the whole mounted in an elaborate wood and plaster gilt frame. Labels on back of frame state painting was cleaned and revarnished by Frank A. Ireland, Restorer of Painting, Philadephia, December 1952. Attributed by Ireland to David Teniers, The Older (1582-1649); this attribution is disputed by others who claim it may date from as late las the early 18th century. Panel is loose in frame and is chipping the painted surface.
