Headquarters, First Army Fort George G. Meade, Maryland
Headquarters of the Commanding General, First Army, whose command includes the 15-state Eastern region from Maine to Kentucky. The older structure in front was inspired by the architectural style of Doughoregan Manor, Charles Carroll's colonial Maryland mansion. The court and modern annex in back were added in 1975.
